Over Water Under Fire is an interactive web documentary about the Colorado River, showing how we change the river, and how the river changes us. Through a seamless combination of video, motion graphics and text, Over Water Under Fire follows the story of the Colorado River and a group of wounded Army Rangers. The project was produced in the summer of 2013 for the award-winning Powering A Nation website. I acted as a videographer and lead editor.
Over Water Under Fire has since won a Gold Medal for Large Group Multimedia Project in the 68th College Photographer of the Year awards, received an Honorable Mention for NPPA's Best of Photojournalism Multimedia Package, and was a finalist in the SXSW Interactive Awards.
100 Gallons explores how our most critical resource goes far beyond traditional power. More than fossil fuels, commerce or industry, water powers life. The project was produced in the summer of 2012 for the award-winning Powering A Nation website. I acted as a videographer and editor for the team, shooting the story "Giving Way" and producing "Dry Promises" and "Piece by Piece".
100 Gallons received a National Emmy nomination in 2013 for New Approaches to Documentary Storytelling, won Second for Multimedia Package in the NPPA Best of Photojournalism, was a Finalist for Documentary Project of the Year in the 70th POYi awards, and won a Gold Medal for Large Group Multimedia Project in the 67th College Photographer of the Year awards.
